GYC Post-Conference Mission Trip

Tuesday, Jan 1 – Sunday, Jan 6, 2019 | Houston, Texas

The Vision

Each year we come to the GYC conference and go on outreach. We knock on doors, we pray, and we return with testimonies of amazing experiences and people willing to study the Bible. But then we leave…

Imagine returning to every home that requested Bible studies on outreach day! This year GYC needs your help to follow up on these interests during our Post-Conference Mission Trip. Join us as we revisit homes, drop off Bible study lessons, and deliver refugee health kits to over 30 unreached people groups living in Houston.

Will you be a missionary willing to reach the world next door and go To The End?

Tell me more…

From January 1st through the 6th, the GYC Evangelism team is partnering with the Texas Conference Evangelism Department and Reach the World Next Door to provide GYC participants and local Houstonians an opportunity to be trained and equipped on reaching the unreached in Houston.

Our primary goal during this time will be to have meaningful interactions while reaching unreached people groups and to follow up on Bible study contact leads gained from the big GYC outreach day.

Upon completing the Post-Conference Mission Trip, missionaries will receive a certificate. There is limited space in this program so missionaries that can participate for the entire time, starting January 1st at 5:00 pm and ending January 6th at 9:00 pm, will receive priority.

Thank you for your interest and may God bless you abundantly as you prayerfully consider this opportunity!

We will be briefly knocking on doors and talking with people and praying for them if appropriate. In addition, we will be re-visiting refugee neighborhoods throughout Houston to drop off refugee kits. During this time, we will be able to interact in a meaningful way with the refugees. We will also pass out literature and be trained on cross-cultural missions.

Yes. We plan to follow up on Bible study leads and deliver refugee kits as well as pass out literature. We could be alternating between placing literature in neighborhoods, parking lots, public transportation venues, crowded downtown streets, and potentially large crowds. Each participant must be willing and able to give literature directly to people even though it might not be for the majority of the time.
