There’s an old saying that I heard often growing up – ‘you don’t get what you don’t ask for.’
Great Controversy, P. 525 says: “It is a part of God’s plan to grant us, in answer to the prayer of faith, that which He would not bestow did we not thus ask.”
God wants to bless us abundantly. But He cannot unless we ask. We need to ask that God blesses us with the power of His Holy Spirit.
…she feared the prayers of John Knox more than 10,000 men armed for war.
When we petition God’s throne and ask Him to intervene on our behalf to answer our requests, He gives us that which He longs to and which He only can when we ask.
GYC Europe is going to be a great event. Not just because of the lovely venue. Not just because of the picturesque surroundings. Not just because of the powerful speakers. Not just because of the tasty food [we hope]. Not just because of the fellowship with youth from all over Europe. But first and foremost it will be because the prayers of God’s people will have been answered.
All great revivals in the past have been in answer to prayer – from Pentecost when the disciples prayed in earnest, to the reformation when Mary Queen of Scots said that she feared the prayers of John Knox more than 10,000 men armed for war, to Charles Spurgeon who had a prayer room in the basement of his church in London, to the early Adventist pioneers who prayed earnestly for God’s leading. God has always answered the prayers of His people.
In the weeks and months leading up to GYC Europe, we need to pray like we have never prayed before.
Whether you are coming or not we urge, we ask, we plead that you would start a prayer group in your church. You may be on the other side of the world from Europe and may not be able to come, but please pray earnestly and specifically for God’s Blessings. Start prayer groups in your homes with your family and friends for God’s blessings. Pray earnestly in your personal prayer life for this event.
We need a revival in Europe that has not been seen yet.
Please pray for it.
